The series
Rethink your priors is a short video series by Eduardo Martínez. Each episode is about a minute long: a deadpan voiceover over crude stick-figure drawings. There are two kinds. The first is about actually implementing AI, outcomes over tools: start with what you want done, not which robot is trending. The second is everything else: tech news, tech drama, and opinions.
Every episode opens with "Rethink your priors." and closes with "Anyway. Start from the outcome. Or don't. I'm not your manager. Follow for more."
The narrator
Eduardo builds his own products with a fleet of AI agents, through his app studio Clueless Creations, and writes the longer version of these ideas in The Compounding Founder. His work on AI implementation starts from the outcome and works backward, and the tool comes last. More at edumartinez.ai.
How it's made
No camera. No ring light. Each episode starts as a script written the slow way: one premise, forty raw observations, the best ten or so, then cut by a fifth. The drawings come from paint.py, a small Python file where every line wobbles on purpose. The wobble is seeded, so the same drawing comes out the same every time and the animation doesn't boil. The voice is a clone of Eduardo's. The deadpan is not.
This website uses the same drawing code, ported to JavaScript, down to the random number generator.
House rules
- Specific beats general. Forty-seven, not "a lot".
- Example numbers say "example".
- No exclamation points.
- The tool is the least interesting decision in the room.
